Supply Chain Student Placement
Job description
A 12/13-month Placement opportunity for university students undertaking a sandwich course. During this time, you will undertake a variety of roles covering many aspects of Supply Chain and Logistics.
You'll gain invaluable skills and experience in covering all aspects of procurement, sourcing, logistics and supply chain management. You will have tasks will include:
Management
Providing performance and financial reports to management
Driving continuous improvements across the department
Maintaining the inbound delivery calendar
Managing internal stock transfers when required
Supporting the Managing Director with ad hoc projects as required
Carriers
Operating as the point of contact for assigned carriers
Forecasting despatch volume and working with outbound carriers to ensure shipments are collected on time
Proactive response to transport delays
Monitoring carrier damages and supporting customer service with submitting claims
Constant review of carrier performance
Negotiating and managing carrier rate cards
Clients
Assisting clients with the transfer of goods to our facilities
Obtaining shipping quotes for clients
Implementation and management of client shipping rules covering all product types including dangerous goods
Flexibility in this role is crucial as no two days are the same and you may be required to work from each of our warehouses. You will be fully trained by the previous placement student as well as other members of the management team during your time here.
