Volumetric weight factors apply to Rates. Shipments will be charged according to the higher of actual or volumetric (dimensional) weight per piece. DHL calculates volumetric weight (in Kilograms) by dividing the piece volume (in Cubic Centimeters) by 5000 (or Length x Width x Height (in cm) / 5000).  DHL reserves the right to modify this formula at any time. Please refer to the Rates for any agreed exceptions/additional details on the Volumetric Divisor.

A fuel surcharge will apply to the Rates, calculated in accordance with the methodology at https://mydhl.express.dhl/gb/en/ship/surcharges.html#/fuel_surcharge unless otherwise specified in the Rates. DHL may from time to time elect to revise its fuel surcharge table.

Rates are exclusive of value-added tax, customs duties, fines or interest thereon, other government or sales taxes imposed with respect to the provision of Services, or any additional surcharges for exceptional activities which shall be for Customer's account. In the event that the inflation rate of the country for which the Rates are quoted exceeds 5%, DHL shall be entitled to adjust the Rates upon reasonable prior notice.  Any such adjustment shall be commensurate with the rate of inflation.

When approved, the carrier will only accept compensation claims for the direct cost of the item. Attributed costs are not considered. All claims must be received within the time frames  specified by the carrier (details available on request). Failure to provide correct documentation or correct packaging may result in the claim being rejected. An enquiry needs to be placed with our customer services team before a claim can be submitted.
